Couple questions :)

Post by Kiraush »

Hello everyone!

I played UO back when I was nine or ten years old, my friends dad no-lifed the game at the time and every second he was not online (which was not often!) my friend and I would hog his computer from the rest of the family to play it ourselves.

I was wondering if Excelsior has a discord channel by chance?

and I was also wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a Bard/Tamer build? I have been out of the game far too long to remember how to start a character off properly.

I was thinking about going 50 Peacemaking and 50 Musicianship to start, but wasn't sure if maybe Discord would be better than Peacemaking?

Any quick tips to someone coming back to the game?

Thanks in advance!

My in-game name is 'Bailee'
I just decided to go with 50 Musician / 50 Peacemaking, worst case scenario I'm sure I can still find my footing.

Ahh welcome to the shard! Barding is a good way to start here but also include taming as well. There is a training room you can start to train combat skills ingame as well. No skill cap here so build all you want :)

Hello,

Archery Bard Tamer is a good starting money making character. Start with 5o taming, then use the skill ball to raise to 100. Use the training room to gain archery an tacts to 75. Then kill ant warriors near wind to gain enough gold to buy a mule. After that the mule will kill stuff for you.

Use scripts to gain chivalry, necro, magery, hiding an other skills.

should use skillball to reach 120 skill , not 100 otherwise you have to either work a lot harder to level up or pay for + skill balls

I didn't realize you could use the ball to go over 100... that would have saved me some time! LOL

You have to use a power scroll to raise the individual maximum skill beyond 100. Once the powescroll has been used, then you can use the skill ball, but musicianship raises quite easily if you macro it.

Do escorts every 5 minutes to make some quick gold. Also the training room as mentioned earlier is a huge help in raising those combat skills so you don't die from the headless if a mongbat. Andy Bear can help you with the dying part. :lool:
